Program Description:
University of SydneyU. of Sydney Quad
The University of Sydney is Australia's oldest university and a world leader in research and education. Ranked in the top 50 in the world, the University of Sydney offers over 2,500 subjects spanning nine Faculties and Schools, including Arts, Social Sciences, Business, Education, Music, Engineering & IT, and Science. With Sydney as your home, you can wander to the Opera House, take a bus to Bondi Beach, ride a train to the Blue Mountains, or hop on a flight to explore the Great Barrier Reef or New Zealand. The city of Sydney has numerous cultural events and festivals to keep you entertained throughout your stay.

 Program Details
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 at time of application (no exceptions)
  • SU required course load: 12-19 credits for undergraduate students
  • No language prerequisite

Fall Semester (Semester 2): mid-July to late November
Spring Semester (Semester 1): late February to late June

Academics
Students take a full semester of courses alongside other international and Australian students. A typical course load is four courses. Most courses carry 6 University of Sydney credits, which typically will be registered as 3 SU credits. Courses and grades from University of Sydney will be posted to your academic record and factored into your overall GPA at SU.
Pre-approved courses for the University of Sydney are not available since we have just added this university to our approved World Partner list. Until students attend the university and take classes there will be not be any or very limited approved courses. Therefore, any courses students enroll in at U of Sydney will have to be approved through Syracuse Abroad and the colleges/departments on campus. 

Housing
Housing is guaranteed at one of the University of Sydney's preferred accommodation providers.  Students are provided with the accommodation information soon after receiving an offer letter. Students are not permitted to live in independent housing.

Visa
Students are responsible for obtaining their own visa. You will receive instructions once you have been officially accepted through the University of Sydney. You will apply for your visa on-line.

Program Cost
You will pay Syracuse University tuition and can apply all Syracuse University financial aid except work study. Besides tuition, you will also be charged program fee which covers pre-departure meetings, International Travel insurance and services not covered by tuition and for which a separate fee is not charged.
