Program Description:
University of Queensland
Australia
Located in Brisbane, The University of Queensland is one of Australia's premier learning and research institutions with a comprehensive range of Business,
Engineering, Information Technology and Humanities programs. Close to the Great Barrier Reef, The University of Queensland also operates multiple field stations for research in ecology, biology, and marine life. Brisbane has all the advantages of a large modern city, while retaining the friendliness and charm of a small regional town. In the 2013 ‘Australia’ edition of the Lonely Planet travel guidebook, Brisbane was named Australia’s coolest city. As the capital of the state of Queensland, often nicknamed the Sunshine State, Brisbane has hosted many large-scale cultural and sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup and the G20 summit. An hour's drive south of the city, you will find the golden beaches and theme parks of the Gold Coast. North from Brisbane you will find the Sunshine Coast beaches, national parks, rain forests and attractions like Australia Zoo. Just off the coast you will find the pristine Stradbroke and Moreton Islands, both popular day-trip and holiday destinations for locals and visitors alike.
