London Center: Drama
This program is fall-semester only. Enrollment is limited to 18 students due to capacity at the Globe Theatre.
London is unparalleled in the breadth and quality of its theater. There is simply no substitute for studying drama by witnessing great performances and productions.
- Minimum GPA: 2.5 (due to limited enrollment and high demand, the minimum GPA will be higher some semesters)
- Open to visiting students with two years of acting/voice/movement study
- Credit hours: 12-19
Attendance at dramatic performances is included in the program, but there is an added emphasis on developing and honing acting skills. Global Education deliver a series of specially designed workshops conducted by Globe practitioners at Shakespeare's Globe. Such workshops might include working with Movement practitioners, introducing and exploring another approach to voice, and working deeper into the text of specific plays using Globe Performance Practice.
(3 credits; optional for all London students)
Syracuse London offers drama students the opportunity to participate a 3-credit Signature Seminar, "Sustainability and Environmental Justice in Europe."
Sustainability and Environmental Justice travels to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, where students see how progress towards sustainable development goals made in the Nordic countries compares to other parts of the region and the world.
