Program Calendar
Fall Semester (Tailored Term 3): mid-August to mid-December
Spring Semester (Tailored Term 1): early January to mid-May

Students are required to take four courses while in Australia. The semester starts with an intensive course in January or August followed by three 10-week courses. The intensive courses are typically 2-4 weeks long. Between the end of their intensive course and the start of the regular term, students will have a break that can range from 2-4 weeks (housing is available during the break). Students must arrive for the required orientation at the start of the semester and are responsible for checking the UNSW timetable for the exact dates of their intensive course and knowing how long their break will be.

Most courses carry 6 UNSW credits, which typically will be registered as 3 SU credits. Courses and grades from UNSW will be posted to your academic record and factored into your overall GPA at SU.

For a list of courses pre-approved for SU credit, please click on the "Courses Offered" link at the top of this page. There is no guarantee courses on the list will be offered during your semester abroad, so please refer to the World Partner website for the most up-to-date course offerings. If you want to take a course that is not already approved, Syracuse Abroad will assist in obtaining approval from the appropriate SU academic department.

You will apply for on-campus housing through the UNSW housing portal once you have been accepted. Students are required to live in UNSW housing. No exceptions can be made.

You will apply for your visa on-line once you have been accepted by UNSW. You will also have to purchase Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC) that is mandatory for students who study in Australia
