Academics
Students choose four or five courses from the Anglo-American University curriculum. Students must take at least one course that has a local, national, or regional focus -- that is, a course about or connected to Prague, the Czech Republic, Central or Eastern Europe, or the European Union. Anglo-American University offers a comprehensive course listing, specializing in Communications, Business, Humanities and Social Science, and International Relations.

For a list of courses pre-approved for SU credit, please click on the "Courses Offered" link at the top of this page. There is no guarantee courses on the list will be offered during your semester abroad, so please refer to the World Partner website for the most up-to-date course offerings. If you want to take a course that is not already approved, Syracuse Abroad will assist in obtaining approval from the appropriate SU academic department.

Courses and grades from CEA Prague will be posted to your academic record and factored into your overall GPA at SU.

Housing
Students live with other students in CEA apartments. The majority of CEA apartments are two-bedroom apartments that host 4 students per apartment. The apartments provide a shared kitchen and bathroom, linens (varies by location), internet access, a washing machine, and central heating. Students complete a housing questionnaire so that program staff can match students with similar lifestyles, interests, and personalities. Roommate requests cannot be guaranteed but CEA's on-site staff tries to accommodate requests when possible. Students commute to class from their apartment or residence. Commuting time from your apartment to the CEA Prague Center is 10-30 minutes. From your apartment to Anglo-American University the commute can range from 10-30 minutes.

Students are not permitted to choose to arrange housing in Prague through an outside company or organization. Students must live in a CEA apartment.

Visa
All U.S. Citizens and most non-U.S. citizens are required to have a student visa for their semester in the Czech Republic. CEA will provide assistance with the visa application process.

Program Cost
You will pay SU tuition and can apply all SU financial aid except work-study. You will also pay a program fee to SU that includes an International Student ID card, pre-departure materials and advising, onsite orientation, excursions and cultural activities, housing in local apartments or in a CEA residence hall, local transportation pass and other services not covered by tuition and for which a separate fee is not charged. Please refer to the financial planning budget for the program fee and more information:
