London Center: M.Arch.I
The SU London architecture program is designed for students enrolled in a professional architecture program. The program consists of a six-credit drawing studio (ARC 608 or ARC 609), a three-credit survey course (ARC 561, which includes site visits) and an architectural history or a professional elective. Architecture students may choose to enroll in an additional elective from the variety of offerings courses at the SU Center.
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Not open to visiting students (Spring 2017 only)
- Credit hours: 9-15
Qualified students enroll in 6 credits of design course work and participate in extensive field study. The program in London includes:
- ARC 608/609 Architecture Design Studio (6 credits)
- Architectural history or a professional elective (3 credits)
- ARC 561 Survey of British Architecture (3 credits)
Approval from the Syracuse University School of Architecture is required.
Submit a 12-20 page portfolio (not to exceed 9' by 12') consisting of previous architectural studio work. Applicants should not include original artwork. All items should indicate the approximate date of production and whether the work was a result of coursework, professional or freelance activities, or collaboration. All information submitted should include the applicant's name and date of birth.
Signature Seminar - Not Offered Fall 2017
(3 credits; optional for all London students)
SU London offers students the opportunity to participate in a 3-credit Signature Seminar, "Sustainability and Environmental Justice in Europe."
Sustainability and Environmental Justice travels to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, where students see how progress towards sustainable development goals made in the Nordic countries compares to other parts of the region and the world.
The Campus in London: Faraday House
Situated mid-town, between the West End and the City, Faraday House is on the edge of the Bloomsbury area, London's university quarter. The features of our facility are augmented by the University of London, including first-rate academic library and subsidized student union facilities.
