Program Description:
Shanghai

What You Need to Know

In an ever-changing global business climate, what better way to build your résumé than interning for a company or organization in Shanghai? The business capital of one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, Shanghai is the perfect launch pad for any career.  Internships are available in a wide variety of fields— accounting, finance, marketing and business, communications, science and technology, journalism, art and design, health care, to name a few.  With the internship comes a weekly discussion course, Issues in the Chinese Workplace, that contextualizes everything you see and do on the job.

This 8-week summer program begins with weekend orientation meetings to familiarize you with the Donghua University campus in Shanghai’s vibrant downtown. You hit the ground running with your internship (typically 35 hours/week) starting in week one. Throughout the program, you are welcome to attend weekday activities and weekend excursions hosted by CET Academic Programs, Syracuse University’s partner in Shanghai. Previous activities have included movie nights with local students, hikes in rural Zhejiang province, gallery crawls at art museums, and local sporting events.
